From Best Local Community Engagement to Community Outreach and even Business Leader of the Year, each accolade represents the countless hours, sleepless nights, and heart-to-heart connections we’ve poured into our work here at TFCF.
And let me tell you, the journey hasn’t always been easy. Since we first opened our doors in 2002, we’ve been on a mission to assist homeless women and children in achieving self-sufficiency. Through the provision of housing, essential services, and a whole lot of love, we’ve been able to implement evidence-based programs, housing initiatives, and trauma-informed approaches to tackle some of the toughest issues facing our communities today.
But perhaps what fills us with the most pride is our latest initiative—the Black and Brown Opportunities for Profit Center (BBOP Center). Born out of a deep desire to address systemic inequities and level the playing field for women of color, the BBOP is a beacon of hope and opportunity for those who deserve a second chance at success. And let me tell you, seeing the impact it’s already making fills our heart with so much joy and hope for the future.
We can’t begin to express how honored and humbled we are to receive such prestigious recognition for our work. As what our founder said, “Being recognized for such a prestigious award makes the work worth it. The Time for Change Foundation was birthed from my own experiences dealing with homelessness, economic disadvantages, and even incarceration. Women deserve a second chance, and I’m excited that TFCF has been able to provide that.”
